A South African name for a South African product
Tokoman comes from tokomane, the Setswana and Sesotho word for a document. It is what the product makes, and where it is made.
Every business we have built software for eventually hit the same wall. The system knew the numbers. Somebody still opened a template, typed them in, saved a PDF and emailed it. Invoices at month end. Statements for every account. Certificates after every course. Letters that went out late because the person who knew the template was on leave.
Tokoman is that job, done by a service. It began as an internal tool that rendered application letters for one of our platforms and grew into something several of them relied on. Making it available to other businesses was the obvious next step.
We are Zizian, a software company in Midrand, Gauteng. We build and run several platforms for South African businesses, and Tokoman is the one every other one uses. Our founder and director is Mpho Malcom Miya.
The rules we hold ourselves to are short. Your data renders your document and is used for nothing else. Documents are stored in South Africa. Prices are in rand and published. And if something goes wrong, you talk to the people who built it.
